Ashe Co. 4-H New River Races
Zaloos Canoes, West Jefferson, NC
The New River race course is a beautiful 5-mile section of the New River located in Ashe Co, NC
near Jefferson. The New River is the second oldest river in the world and runs north. The race starts
at Zaloo's Canoes, you ride several class I rapids and end at the New River State Park. These canoe and kayak
races are traditionally held the first Saturday in June.
