We run 3 events through the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games:

• Thursday night: The Bear 5-Mile Run, a challenging 5-mile run with over 1000 feet of elevation gain
• Friday: The Grizzly, a metric century cycling event over the Blue Ridge Mountains
• Saturday: Grandfather Mtn Marathon, one of the toughest marathons in the country

We will give an award for the top male and female who compete in all 3 events. Please notify us
if you are doing all 3 events so we can record your place in each event. We will crown the King and Queen of the Mountain (the overall Male and Female who complete the BEAR, GRIZZLY, and GMM) on Saturday after the marathon at 1:15 at the marathon tent. Winners are based on cumulative time in all three events.

2007 was the first year for the Grizzly and we had several folks compete in all 3 events. The 2007 King of the Hill was Andy Mitcheltree of Blowing Rock, NC.

• The Grandfather Mtn marathon - 6th place with a tome of 3 hrs 3 min
